Nathalie started painting actively after completing high school. During her college years in Tilburg, The Netherlands, while studying for a degree in econometrics at Tilburg University and also studying art at the Duvelhok Art School under Marc Mulder and Reinoud van Vught, she started creating more and more abstract works. She developed her own style of applying many thick and thin layers of paint. A lot of attention was given to working the surface of the painting, still very much a part of her current style.


In 1991-1992, Nathalie studied in New York City, but not until she moved to San Francisco did she find her passion for large abstract paintings. Since then she has studied painting with Roy Tomlinson and Robin McDonnell. She has recently returned to New York, her "dream city".

Her works still continue to be mainly large, abstract, with rich layered surfaces. In the last couple of years, her paintings’ subject matter has become more bold, using small and large shapes, numbers and lines, creating paintings that are complex but boundless in what people can imagine...
